Does anyone have some advice on the best way to learn about bloodlines/pedigrees etc.?

Is it just via these forums etc.?

I am a greyhound owner, & would like some knowledge on best sires for any potential brood bitches in the future. Thanks

Best way to see what has worked or could work is look at your bitches sire have look throw pedigree top progeny and other side top female progeny and same look throw bitch side of mating 1-2-3-4 generations back to see if u can find a link there that contributes to a good litter.

History is the best teacher. Likewise if you don't learn from history you are doomed to repeat it.

Why do you think Temlee is the greatest?

David Brasch is the smartest pedigree analyst in the game. He has some outstanding articles on here.

Ryan you need to first go way back and get an appreciation of the old Aust Colonial lines, check out key sires Roccabright, Pharminda, Chief Havoc etc
Two .
Focus on imported sires Which Chariot, Tivoli Dreamer, Waverley Supreme, Newdown King, Come on Wonder, Lively Band, Fortress.
Three
Learn Temlee and Waverley Supreme sire strains, ( many ) sons, grandsons
Four
Study Benjamin John the most successful maternal sire in our history
Osti Line, Camden Line, Bay RD Queen line, Pringle Line, Wheeler Line
Five
Absorb Wheeler damlines, start off with Dynabolt. Learn the lines of Mercia Bale. , Emiline Bale, Princess Bale, Gold Rush Bale. (Offspring)

USA sire introduction to Aust. Kiowa Sweet Trey, Flying Penske, etc ( Sandman ! )

Ryan When your fluent in all of above you will start to enjoy GData even more by understanding the Grey Masters opinions and theories

Im lucky Im a Brasch Pupil from the early 90s
thanks to Davids breeding articles in the monthly Greyhound Journal. I also learned from Peter Rose winning lines
Good luck Ryan
I hope this format above is suited.

However Im not a breeding guru Im just an avid world wide greyhound bloodline follower.
