Hi guys, we are currently looking at ways to improve the test mating.

Let us know what you would like to see. Please post your ideas here, thanks.

Hi Tony - Great to see you always being innovative & open to improvement. I would like to see a "special ancestor" function available for females. Currently available for sires but not females but as we know linking common females is a proven recipe for success on the track and/or producing a quality brood. I think this would be an excellent addition. Thanks & keep up the great work.

Hi Tony and Team GD, I'd like to see an option where you would as personal preference select four members of your broodbitches pedigree and based on GD ratings you could be given a list of best sires suited to your broodbitch based on previous success.

You could have in list with special ancestor, linebreeding etc call it a powerhit, click on that, pick your four members of your broodies pedigree that you think might make her a sucess as a mother and up comes a list based on those 4 selections that rank sires previously used over bitches containing those four.

Just a thought but keep up the good work.

Hi Simon, yes that would be good breeding aid for sure. I will have out IT look into it. Please be patient with us as out IT guy is not greyhound orientated so some of this will take a bit of explaining.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Hi Tony

The 'second offspring' has never worked as it is currently set up.

You can do away with the 'female' and 'male' and 'top' female and male sections and just have a 'second offspring' and 'top second offspring'

In doing this you will remove a number of useless tabs.

Sometimes the best theory is if it isn't broken don't fix it. Leave testmatings alone imo

Hi Matt, thanks for your input. what your saying is true but it has virtually been the same for 20 years. We will not be removing the basic things it does but we are trying to add extra features that todays breeders may be looking for.

Thanks Kevin we will look at your suggestion.

I wouldn't mind a 6th generation appearing on the page or the ability to extend to up to 7 generations on the one page from the current 5.

Also would like to see the tap root damline to appear as a separate column at the side of each ancestor after the last column in the generational chart e.g. Kitty, Old Fly, Handsome etc

Be good if you could break up top offspring and 2nd off spring in to seperate countries. Makes it easier, particularly with outcross sires to see what seems to be working with the sire.

https:/ CLICK HERE
Mick using Sh Avatar as example top offspring you should be able to click the word in red (land) and that will give you country in alphabetical order starting with AU.

I like Sandros idea but i also think there could be a pattern linker where it will show top rated performers with atleast 2 or 3 or 4 gen 2,3 or 4 or whatever number you request in the mix. Like you can request any mix of specific or any 3 say specific links in a bloodline in the requested amount of generations. So the top performers that have atleast 3 first 3 generation links the same as your testmating and so on. Or you can pick the generations up to 5 or even more with as many links as you request. Not sure if this is making sense but basically finding the best results from any number of random or specific links regarding your testmating. I mean the breeding buffs will have to find something else to do for 6 more hours a day but it would be extremely helpful.

Thanks Simon, would be even better if they were listed in order of ability.

Yes, I think the suggestions to extend the 'special ancestor' and 'line breeding' in the sire searches to at least 4 options eachisn't a bad idea

You could also include an option where you can pick how many generations you want that search to go for, the standard being 5 gen and then extended options to at least 7 gen or further to find the blood you want for your brood

Tony I would like to be in a position to undertake a test mating and then undertake a next generation mating using the result of the first. Not sure if the virtual mating function covers this option - I couldn't work it out if it does.

Nick

You use the expert mode to do that

https:/ CLICK HERE
Then you can go into each area of the expert test-mating and change the variables

For me the " Test Mating " has always been fine. What would be more beneficial when breeders are trying to use the facility would be an accurate & up to date database of stud dogs. Most listed died years ago. If it were not proven that sires were available frozen they too should be deleted. Hope that helps. Mark
