Dear Stephen ,

I did try on my dogs and i think that overload the kidney , seem to be very good on papers but not for dogs !

Dogs cramping the next day ! i did stop and the dogs go faster and no cramping !

Try on you you will see !

Cheers !

i find it very good, builds them up nicely, but can affect kidneys if to much is given, small doses 2-3 times a week with the same amount of glucose is fine with my dog,all dogs different, glucose helps go thru system without affecting kidneys, had no cramping at all.

A bush trainer told me that with creatine, you only give it to the dog 3 days before a race (half a teaspoon) then 2 days before, then on the day of the race (as close as possble to the race)

It's not something you give to the dog daily or regularly, obviously.

yes it is if u want,1gram 3times a week, then 4hrs b4 race, people take it regularly, its another of these products that not everyone will agree on,dont know if makes them go faster but muscles r bigger, bigger is betta,it really just builds muscle fibre.also lily what if u race every wk,then u would have 2 give regually.

Yeah that's the point, if you're not racing regularly, obviously you don't have to give to the dogs daily. ;-))

I do have a tub of creatine monohydrate powder that was given to me 4 mths ago, but as I didn't have any dogs racing, I haven't used it yet. I didn't know much about it on its own til my mate gave me the tub and told me how much and when to give to the dogs.
If you're having good results with it,Andy, then it must be doing its job. I might give it a try once my pups start racing.

Guys, have any of you guys tried the stuff yourself on yourself?
If so you would know creatine is formed naturally in all muscles and a good source comes from meat. Creatine will NOT make your muscles bigger by just taking it plain and simple , the way it works is it unables muscles to work longer and harder without the muscle getting the acid build up that gives the burning sentation, AFL players are big uses of it because it unables themselves to go that bit further . I personally believe it would benefit a greyhound in the right doses and as long as there was given time of creatine as like others said it isnt great for there kidneys. Cheers,
Troy

its a known fact creatine builds muscle fibre, also strengthens so less chance of tearing, vit .e not sure it has same affect, creatine used rite gives them definition not so much bulking up,look at my bitch in profile u cant tell me she's to big,@nath ur rite givem to much they bulk up like arnie shwartznegger.had no kidney problems,i was told to give equal amount of glucose so goes thru system betta.on its own & given large doses can cause kidney damage.

I have not used it on myself ,But have a mate who plays first grade rugby union and he has told me that it helps them to bulk up aswell as the effects you have stated troy and makes the muscles slightly softer and they hold more water thus increasing muscle bulk

Cheers Nathan
