9 races down on the big night at Albion Park.

The GOAT was the sire or grandsire of all 3 the feature race winners.

5 winners and grandsire of 2 winners.

This dog just keeps on proving the doubters wrong every race meeting that roles around. To say I'm in awe of him is a massive understatement. Long live the greatest race dog, greatest sire, greatest sire of future sires and greatest sire of future broods. Unbloodybelievable.

Well done Out of range , quiet achiever at present

From now on the Fernando Bale knockers will be known as the "SOGGY BOTTOM BOY'S"
because every time they knock him he bend's them over and gives them a proper "SHAFTING"

Polishes off the night with another winner in the last. If you aren't impressed by Fernando Bale I'm sorry you are just WRONG or IGNORANT, plain and simple.

As Mark Twain said It is better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

Looks like Paul is correct, with those Peter Rose Winning Lines stats, when it comes to multiple feature race winners in a litter. Which IMO only distorts the facts.

So, based on once a feature race winner is in the litter, Ive moved on to the next litter. This is what Ive come up with.

Feature race winner / per litters born

Black Magic Opal 6.67
Gun Law Osti 8.7
Fernando Bale 11.29
Bombastic Shiraz 11.32
Barcia Bale 14.33 (only 1/2 way through)
Aussie Infrared 21
Zambora Brockie 22.71
Aston Dee Bee 22.78
Zipping Garth 63
Orson Allen 77

Fair to say both Black Magic Opal and Gun Law Osti had a lot less litters. So whos to say where they might end up, with comparable litter numbers to the likes of Fernando Bale and Bombastic Shiraz?

N.B Im not implying anything, just find it interesting and curiosity got the better of me LOL

Out of interest how are Fernando bale sons Sennachie, Fully Loaded, My Redeemer, out of range, rippin Sam, etc. travelling for feature winners/city winners?

It wouldn't be fair to judge their careers yet, using this method.
I was fortunate enough to meet Peter Rose and pick his brain. A very quiet subdued man but highly intelligent and a wealth of greyhound knowledge. I'm positive he didn't calculate stats for sires until they had been at stud for a certain number of years and had a particular number of litters on the ground. We shouldn't be trying to calculate percentages using different formulas and criteria.

To my way of thinking, I reckon a good formula would be total litters over 3 years of age divided by every Group win by progeny.

If he was Razordot on Global Greyhounds/AGF, he used to wait for 100 litters over 2yo before he thought they were meaningful

Agree we shouldn't be judging young sires yet. I more meant how are these Fernando bale sons comparing with each other/their dad for city winners/feature winners (more so city winners)

Only problem with comparing Current Sires with Sires from along time ago, comparing litters/pups to feature race winners, the stats can't be an accurate guide on who has the best percentage! These days there are ALOT more Group Races, and feature races on the Calendar for the current crop of Dogs to compete in.Id love to know the exact number of how many more Group Races, and feature races are around today,to say going back to the Glory days of Temlee for example!

But as well as there being more feature races to win there's also more dogs starting than ever. As sad as it is you used to hear stories of whole litters not making the track. Now no matter the ability them pups race in and out of tier 3 probably dragging down a sires stats

At least you admit it's a hero worship

I have nothing against Fernando bale but he can only work with the broodies he receives. He's not a miracle worker like any sire and he's always gonna have more success with She's A Pearl than her half sister that couldn't win a maiden on the non tab. He earned the best broodies by having success on the track which led to success at stud. We'll never know what some sires would produce with the same broodies

Good night for the GOAT at Ipswich with 7 of the 8 Young Guns Finalists being sired or grandsired by FB. Throw in the winner of the Grand Prix and he has dominated again.
