I watched one of the Wenty tapes Steven, exceptional mid race pace hasn't he(8.28 mid race is electric), just worry if he were to get behind dyna yemen early, yemen being an experienced racedog including over the 600m it may be a bit much.

Could be a few brushes on the way to the first turn too unless smart missile comes out the best he ever has, and yemen blows it at box rise a fraction........very interesting heat

dunno about breakin 29 tho.haha.

must be terribly discouraging Michael with Sky racing putting the 2nd match race of the Speed Star on sky 2.............didn't even see it.

what about the first match race......supposed to be the SPEED star and they didn't put up the times. Went straight to the trots.

wld appreciate if you cld post the vids on this thread.

thanks in advance.

I hate to sound negative but it's pretty hard not to be when you've been waiting weeks to watch the match races and they go and put them on sky 2, almost seems like a waste of time, hard to even be excited about watching the replays when you've already heard the results...

Fluke Ryan lol.......But Smart Missile is exactly that. A MISSILE. He was always going to smash'em in a 2 dog war.

I actually missed the race. Did he lead all the way? I reckon running that time he would have.

Yes Good coverage enjoyed it, love match racing, can highlight the raw speed of some of the lesser known dogs

PLEASE SIR, CAN I HAVE SOME MORE!!! How awesome was that, bloody loved it.

Should have this event once a month, perhaps give each VIC track a turn, so long as current track records are retained regardless of times ran in match racing.

Congrats to all involved tonight!!

Irrespective of what peoples own personal opinions might be of Jamie Ennis, I thought his comments and analysis tonight was very impressive indeed.

For far too long I have thought our coverage/presentation (Sky's contemptuous disdain aside), has always suffered, or at least been somewhat diminished due to a unprofessional delivery/presentation from our elected presenters (no disrespect to Simone Fisher late Britton and co, I know they do their best under pressing conditions), but this evening with Mark Duclos (on lead) and Jamie Ennis providing the more in depth analysis, not too mention being allocated - the actual air time (albeit Sky 2), I thought at last (as a sport) we finally received a commentary and presentation on par with that provided, and afforded to the thoroughbreds!

If I was to be hypercritical, then I would say that perhaps Jamie's speaking voice (delivery) isn't up there with the Ambrosoli's of this world (nor would I expect it), but I would be happy to concede this minor point over level of content anytime ...I'll enjoy it whilst I can, as tomorrow I'm sure Sky will subject us to mediocrity and "normality" yet again!

Well done to all concerned!

PS Hearty congratulations to all competitors and connections but especially to - Jason Mackay, Jason Thompson, the Pistol Racing Syndicate and of course Smart Missile on his 29.006 run tonight.

Tote figures very poor, being there Jamie, it was a bit like watching trials, better spectacle watching all 8 dogs selected going hammer and tong in the one race. Maybe next time run each heat in between races 5 6 7 8 and call it Race 12, too much of a break between Races 2 and 4. The usual size crowd for a Thursday night - Peter
