Congrats to connections of Utah Blues on making the G1 Australia Cup final , himself part of a very good litter going places . There are better breeding buffs then me in terms of studying what works crossing breeding lines, but noted he is by Barcia Bale over Aussies dam line . While early days for Aussie , given the group successes of Catch The Thief and Playlist , being out of a Barcia Bale bitch , this seems more then a coincidence .

Michael based on facts. Aussie best victories are from dams that run a strong 500 plus.

So if you have a Barcia bitch who can run past 500m you are big show of getting something.

Michael is there a few litters you can show me where the dam has run no further than 450m and litter has produced city winners?

Hi Sheldon, you might be right and that is how I prefer to breed with him myself (500 m bitches), but with just the 30 litters racing, it is early days. While litters such as Celebrity Babe and Miss Blutane (winners over short distances) are yet to win in town, they are prolific winners and some are seriously quick.
In terms of correlation between top racing quality pups and dam sires, the Barcia dams clearly work very well, but his highest rated racing pups are to a variety of sire dams (Don't Knocka Him, Barcia, USA dog Lonesome Cry, Brett Lee). There are some nice break in reports around, and these again involve a variety of dam sires... I believe the spread reflects the Bella Infrared outcross.

cheers

Some Aussie Infrared stats:-

- We are averaging 1 group class dog each 5 litters to hit the track

- high strike rate winners/runners based on Greyhound Recorder Stats (17%)

- Fertility strike rate must be among the best proven group class producing sires available with

Average litter size this year across 50 litters born 7.4 pups/litter
Average litter size since offered to stud 7.27 pups / litter
Misses since offered to stud, 11 of 144 inseminations (8 readily explainable with the bitch or process, 3 unknown)
(litter size going up, not down).

500 winners for the year came up last night thanks to breeders for supporting Aussie. We should be heading well and truly up the sires rankings in the next 2 years with that number being off a low litter base and litters rising three fold this year . EXTERNAL LINK
