Was a horror draw for Ariel. What a shame, such a champion bitch should miss out.

Now for Susie Sapphire to do what her dam line of Mustang Mega was so gallant in almost doing. Win the Derby. Was at the 2004 Derby, when Mustang Mega exploded from traps. Only to see Climate Control lob right on her and breeze past her down the back. Mustang Mega was so gallant in defeat that night. Looks like Susie has inherited her dam lines explosive early!

Good luck to all. What a dream to be in the final!!

Tina Marina was the last bitch to win the derby in 1996. She was a November 1994 out of Phantom Flash and Minnies Nikita, trained by Seamus Graham and owned by the Greenvale Syndicate and bred by Lizzie Maher. Her SP was 14-1 with Spiral Nikita being favourite 7-4f who came 3rd. winners time 30.20. She was the rank outsider. She had 7 litters the first in 1998 with, what appears to be the best one was Marinas Tina a wblk bitch out of Staples Jo earning just under 40,000 in prize money.

Spiral Nikita was her litter brother and Marinas Tina was more than a Bitch who won lots of prizemiey, she won the Irish Oaks twice in 2000 and 2001
She was also a brilliant brood Bitch, her son Blue Majestic was third in that famous 2006 English Derby Final won by Westmead Hawk

Probably one of the best bitches to win a Derby (English) was arguably Sarahs Bunny 1979 . And she went on to breed some very fast dogs her pedigree can still be found in some of the top greyhounds today.

To be an oaks and derby champion would be something, never mind before your second birthday. Has the double ever been done

Congratulations to all finalists .have a special interest in the 3 trainers who keep their dogs in good order by using the GPPIFR laser 3300.

Looks like you would have to watch the final at breakfast time in Aus by the look of it.

Does this channel broadcast there or is it restricted?

This is utter disgrace that our national tv station are now not shown the biggest day in greyhound year. How are we to promote our sport and bring it back to as good if not better than before if we are not promoting it in our national airwaves. Alot Been written on news paper but only proper way to promote is by actually shown our sport live. And before people say it's on racing post still not good enough people will only see it on rte that are not interested but might by viewing how fun and good it is and come for a night at dogs
