Recent horrendous weather, but yesterday minimal rain, same today. Richmond called off 1pm, kennels close 2.17pm. Reason, " following an inspection of track by stewards, meeting abandoned". Not happy, but acceptable. Bearing in mind Richmond has just undergone a complete state of the art rebuild. But what had me upset was, a couple of hours later, Wentworth Park, an old track, same amount of rain, racing and kicks off at 7.05pm. Surely an inspection by officers Dibble, Ivan, or Crane at 9.00am might have been warranted? Perhaps even the afternoon before. Someone has to be responsible for the track condition, and surely for such a late calling off. Is not what i have just stated logical thinking?

Im 10 minutes from the Richmond track and it rained all day here plus a number of entry roads are closed may have been in the interest to keep everyone safe

That's what happens when you build tracks in flood zones !

They should not have waited so long... blind Freddy knew what was coming....

I believe the stewards have control of the meeting at the beginning of the day.

Did anyone complain to them? Give them a call. They don't bite...
