2 starts 2 wins in Oz - both times close to the record. Today Postman Pat wins Shepparton 460m 24.66 (rec 24.59 Rejuvenate)

3 from 3, in scintillating time each time - tonight Geelong 25.28, faster again from his debut 25.33 run. Wow!

He already raced against Shelbourne Park class dogs in NZ and proved to be a class about them ;-)

NZ top grade is a lot better than it gets credit for. There's a reason Postman Pat is burning up the tracks and is undefeated in Australia so far

I still remember when Doctor Banks came over from NZ to race in our feature races

He was their champion of the time

He was a 3/4 outcross and his 4th dam was bred 2 x 2 to Chief Havoc

It was probably near enough to 15 years ago but I remember Thrilling Brat and a couple littermates coming to Australia for a hit and run mission and going home with a group race or 2. The thrilling name is still dominant in NZ and a lot would be more than competitive in Australia

He was shunned by breeders unfortunately, but I remember Above All being one of the better dogs in Australia for a period of time too

He is still rated very highly by Robert Britton from a recent article

Clone your Own, a Group 1 winner of the Harrison Dawson was another one

Exactly Sandro! Your mention of Doctor Banks is a great lead into one of my favourite stayers with the same cross RULES - EXTERNAL LINK

Genetics genetics genetics!! Oops sorry Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi PMSL

Develop an encyclopaedic knowledge of bloodlines and you never know what you might breed for yourself!

Very interesting is that pedigree of Rules EXTERNAL LINK Darren.

If you put Rules' great grandams sire Best Sun over his sires dam Popcorn EXTERNAL LINK and look at the blood quota table below, you'll find all lines are cross duplicated except Arn Finn's damline (Yamba's Daughter).

This means Popcorn carries different individuals in her pedigree that recreate 94%(15 of the 16 lines), of Best Sun's ped within 5 gens, therefore reintroducing an extremely high percentage of Best Sun back into the same damline he was previously involved with, this time resulting in Rules.......and that's Tesio in a nutshell.

Very interesting Ryan.

Best Sun is absolutely a player. Look at Rules 2nd dam litter sister to Thats Eddy & also take a look at Yoyo Dancer to name two.
