Simply brilliant !! Nothing less !!!
Calling Baird out ,publicly bashing him with the label a DISGRACE!!
And then moving to take action against closing this track !!! All in 3 min !!! Watch the news or reports on this track matter !! I'll bet he goes close or changes it , single handedly!!!
Anyone else promising or pretending to be in a position to make change for the good of our industry , and have not ,ie silent mode !!!
You are being taught a lesson on productivity and looking no better then Baird every day that passes with zero input, oops sorry ,except for the input on limited breeding (2000 pups)and a cocktail party !!! My mistake for momentarily missing these 2 achievements in the last 4 mths !!!
Alan you are smashing walls down for our industry and to call it tremendous!would be an understatement!! I only wish the industry in which you are protecting would return your service in following your trio charge (Hadley ,borsak)

Once again what are we waiting for !!!!
Alan's not !!! Rays not !!! Borsaks not !!!!
That's right ..... shhhhhhh , be silent , we have to surprise them !!!!

Her exact words were "as soon as practicable" .....

"Practicable":adjective achievable, attainable, capaale of being done, doable, effectible, feasible, not too diffiiult, obtainable, operable, performable, possible, practical, realizable, reasonable, within reach, within the bounds of possibility, workable

Whether Ray got my PM or not, I asked him to put that question to her, so to keep her on the front foot during these early stages into her new position..

Tony

I have & will keep knocking on her door to seek a better deal for the dogs. To be brutally honest she knew nothing about their lifecycle before we spoke & she was no help in stopping the ban go through...but now she's leader she'll get to have her say. Great to be able to walk past her at least once a week with the dogs because she lives in the same street as me.

She's seems a reasonable person & I'm hoping with time she might even get a greyhound of her own!

Newly crowned HALL OF FAMER Ray Hadley mentions the greyhounds twice on today's show.

The first time is briefly around 3 minute mark & then around the 42 minute mark when he mentions how the TAB figures regarding greyhounds have gone thru the roof this year ---> EXTERNAL LINK

And to think it's being run by a bunch of people who could be mistaken for being anti's.
Imagine if someone like Peter Vlandis was in charge of our industry. And if the Government actually supported it properly.

We'd be racing for 2K each race at Lithgow.

Well, there you go. It's all said in Niall's opening speech. He's listened to the concerns of domestic dog, cat, bird breeders etc, about new breeding proposals that were aired late last year...and he's ACTED immediately (within months) & it's hugs & kisses all-round.

Under the legislation he has to sign off on our Code of Practice.

Greyhound Racing Act 2017 No 13
Part 4 Division 2 Section 36
36 Making of code of practice
(1) The Minister may, by order published on the NSW legislation website, make the code of practice that has been submitted by the Commission. The order is to set out the code of practice.
(2) The code of practice takes effect on the day on which the order is published or, if a later date is specified in the order for commencement, on the later date so specified.
(3) The Minister may, by order published on the NSW legislation website, amend or repeal the code of practice. An amendment to the code may only be made if it has been submitted by the Commission.
(4) An order by the Minister under this section may only be made with the concurrence of the Minister for Primary Industries.

Let's hope he uses the same common sense when it comes to greyhounds.

Government scraps animal breeding laws (NOT GREYHOUNDS) after pet owners revolt

Its back to the drawing board for the NSW government after draft legislation had law-abiding animal breeders up in arms.

The laws, written up late last year by the Department of Primary Industries, aimed to crack down on puppy factories by restricting the number of female dogs on a property.

Macquarie Radio veterinary expert Dr Rob Zammit expressed his concerns to Ray Hadley, saying regular dog owners and hobby breeders would be unfairly targeted.

Primary Industries Minister Niall Blair listened and tells Ray theyre scrapping the legislation altogether.

Weve probably unearthed more issues or unintended consequences than what anyone thought, Minister Blair tells Ray.

Common sense is going to prevail here.

Minsiter Blair says there are plenty of people doing the right thing but the illegal behaviour needs to be stamped out.

We dont want to tarnish good people by the actions of those doing the wrong thing.

But on the flip side, weve seen some horrific examples in NSW organised crime games involved in keeping bitches pregnant year-round.

The treatment and the conditions that those dogs, in particular, are being kept in were absolutely abhorrent and thats what we want to get rid of.

Dr Rob Zammit called in to praise the Ministers action.

Wasnt Dr Rob Zammit against greyhound racing when the ban was on in NSW, a bit hypocritical to say the least.
