The A Team's recent success in greyhound racing has been four decades in the planning. That's how long Tony Apap has been in the industry.
His father Sam is a well known breeder and trainer who has produced some greyhound greats in the many years he has been in the sport.
So it is obvious Tony was "bred" to be a leader in the industry.
Tony has been a successful trainer who dabbled in stud dog work 20 years ago when he was based at Park Ridge on the southern outskirts of Brisbane.
Some 18 years ago he and wife Jane and their children Kirsty and Nina bought 160 acres at Gatton in the prime rural Lockyer Valley an hour and a quarter drive to Brisbane.
They primarily moved there to establish a rearing and training centre.
The property regular rears more than 100 greyhounds at any one time. Jane's care and attention or whelping broodbitches is well known among the industry.
Tony moved into stud dog work initially standing the Gabba track record holder
Magic Gull.
From there he has become one of the premier studmasters in greyhound racing today. Just The Best is the champion sire of Australia ... just look at his Group-winning statistics.
But The A Team is much more than Just The Best.
It is a diverse and successful team of proven and young stud dogs, as well as first class broodbitch and rearing facilities.
